September 6, 2007 China 10 Sri Lanka 2 Asian Games silver medalist China failed to make it to the Asia Cup semi-finals even after beating Lanka 10-2 and being equal with Korea on ten points. Korea’s superior goal difference of plus seven proved too much for the Chinese to overhaul. Chinese coach Kim Sang said that his team did try but the Lankans also played a good defensive brand of hockey and they couldn’t score as many as they would have wanted in order to overhaul the Koreans. Kim said that he was happy with his team and said that they had huge scope to improve. For China De Yunze was the highest scorer with four goals.
