September 5, 2007 Asian Games champion South Korea on Wednesday became the second team to pull out of the Champions Trophy men's hockey tournament to be held in Lahore. The South Koreans dropped the bomb-shell when they came for the post-match press conference after their 3-3 draw with China. It was just a simple line, “we will not play in Lahore.” But for Pakistan it was the end of their campaign to save the Champions Trophy from being shifted. The Koreans also decided to give the tournament a miss, to be held between December 1 and 9, in the wake of Tuesday’s twin blasts in Rawalpindi, which killed 25 people. Olympic champion Australia has already pulled of the tournament. India and Malaysia will now bid for the Champions Trophy and after seeing respective documents, the International Hockey Federation (FIH) would decide who would host the tournament.
